Hi, I’m Alli Treadwell! Welcome to my blog!!
There are two things that encompass my life. One is doing easy, and I mean easy, crock pot recipes. Two is keeping my never ending energy balls of children busy. Slow cooking/crock potting makes it so I can always go enjoy our weather, either at the pool or park, and still have dinner ready when we get home.
This is not a fancy food blog! I fell in love with crockpot cooking when I took over dinner when my husband stopped working from home. Since I’m in charge of dinner I try to make it as easy as possible while still having delicious food ready when the end of the day comes along. There are so many incredible meals you can make in your crockpot!
I have tried countless crock pot recipes and my husband has eaten countless failed recipes. I can tell you that making easy and delicious is harder than it seems. Through trial and error; and mostly through my husbands actual cooking abilities, I have put together the recipes we have created over the past two years.
Need a Slow Cooker? My favorite is this Crock Pot 6 quart Programmable Slow Cooker. I love being able to set the timer in case I’m not home when the food is finished cooking and it just switches to warm. Plus you can lock the lid and just carry it to a party. You never lose another Tupperware or serving dish again at a potluck party. But you can work with whatever size you have!
All of my recipes are gluten free since my husband has celiac disease. We eat a LOT of rice so I use a rice cooker to make my life easier. My favorite one is Zojirushi 5.5 cup rice maker. It’s pretty pricey but since it makes perfect fluffy white and brown rice and I use it 4 days a week it is worth the investment.
I love finding fun things to do with my two kids, Jack (5) and Georgia(3)! We head to different parks, museums, libraries and tons of places every week. Check out our guides and tips in Things to Do Phoenix page for every where we have been so far with tips for your visit. I’m always on the lookout for Free activities we can do and have found plenty to do which is the best to add into the mix.
Hope these recipes and ideas help your family have a nice relaxing dinner (hahaha) after a day filled with fun!
