Do you ever wish you could make your own spice packets? Either to save money, health reasons, you forgot to buy it at the grocery store or it’s not available where you are. My husband has to be gluten-free so just to be safe I make our own spices. Here are the most common ones that I make from scratch!
Ranch Packet
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon dried chives
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
Directions
- Mix all spices together in small bowl until well combined.
- Store in airtight container in dry space.
Italian seasoning
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup dried basil
- 2 tablespoons dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons dried marjoram
- 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons dried coriander
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Directions
- Mix all spices together in small bowl until well combined.
- Store in airtight container in dry space.
BBQ rub
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
Directions
- Mix all spices together in small bowl until well combined.
- Store in airtight container in dry space.
Mexican Seasoning
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons garlic
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon chipotle chili powder (or regular)
Directions
- Mix all spices together in small bowl until well combined.
- Store in airtight container in dry space.
Curry Seasoning
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup paprika
- 1/4 cup cumin
- 1 tablespoon fennel powder
- 2 tablespoons fenugreek powder (optional) – gives sweetness
- 2 tablespoons ground mustard powder
- 1 tablespoon ground red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons ground coriander
- 1/4 cup ground turmeric root
- 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves powder
Directions
