This Crock Pot Big Mac Casserole is an easy hamburger casserole recipe made with ground beef, cheese, pickles, and onions and topped with delicious Big Mac sauce and sesame seeds!
Does anyone else sing “two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun” when they hear Big Mac, or is that just me?
You don’t even have to go through the drive-thru to McDonalds to get your favorite Big Mac flavors. All the classic flavors you love are baked into an easy, quick, and family-friendly meal. I don’t know about you but I can put Big Mac sauce on anything and eat it. That tangy, creamy, just plain delicious, the sauce is the star in this recipe!
Crock Pot Hamburger Casseroles
Crock Pot Big Mac Casserole is a quick ground beef recipe the whole family will gobble up. I love a good hamburger casserole like Crock Beefy Potato Casserole or Tater Tot Taco Casserole. Casseroles are always my go-to because my kids love ground beef as much as the adults do and they are easy to throw into the crock pot and dinner is done. Big Mac Casserole is another one of those family-friendly meals that everyone will request!

Crock Pot Big Mac Casserole Special Sauce
This special sauce can be made in a few minutes with a few ingredients. Just make sure to make enough because everyone will want more to drizzle on their Big Mac Hamburger Casserole. Sometimes I double the recipe so there is more for leftovers too!
How to Make Special Sauce?
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons ketchup
- 4 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 Tablespoon grated white onion
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon white sugar
Tips to Make the Special Sauce
- I like to make this sauce at least an hour before serving. This way all the flavors combine. You can even make it a day before making this even quicker to serve at dinnertime!
- Make sure to refrigerate the sauce after you make it unless you are serving right away.
Crock Pot Big Mac Casserole – Gluten Free and Low Carb Casserole
All of my recipes are Gluten Free because my husband had celiac disease. That means you are allergic to gluten. However, this recipe is naturally gluten free so you don’t need to make any swaps.
Keto Version
If you are following a Keto diet this recipe can work for you! Just swap a few of the ingredients.
- Swap the ketchup for sugar free ketchup.
- Use dill pickle relish instead of sweet pickle relish.
- Replace the sugar with Erythritol Sweetener.
How to Store Big Mac Casserole
Leftover Big Mac casserole can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. Be sure to store it in an airtight container so that it doesn’t dry out. I like to freeze the casserole for up to 2 months. Thaw it overnight in the fridge and then reheat it in a 350-degree oven until warm.
Variation Options for Big Mac Casserole Recipe
There are endless possibilities when it comes to variations of this casserole.
- Extra cheese: Add some extra shredded cheese on top of the casserole before baking it. This is one of my favorite options!
- Pizza style: Add some pizza sauce to the mix for a fun twist.
- BBQ style: Swap out the special sauce for your favorite BBQ sauce.
- Southwest style: Add some diced green chiles, corn, and black beans to the mix.

At what point do you add the Big Mac sauce? It doesn’t mention it in the instructions.
Allison Treadwell says
Hi Cindy, I like to add it at the end. It’s more of a sauce to put on top. Hope you enjoy the recipe!
