Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Version

Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Version

When I saw the trending hashtag #bakedfetapasta on Tik Tok I knew I was going to have to try and make it. This Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Version is just as tasty as the oven version but even easier. This creamy baked feta tomato sauce is so simple to make but tastes incredible on pasta!

All the ingredients were right up my alley which is why I think it is so popular. I mean who doesn’t love a good tomato sauce with tons of cheese and olive oil. The recipe is beyond easy and the flavors go together perfectly. Just like my Crock Pot Garlic Parmesan Chicken Pasta!

Of course, you know I was going to make it in the Crock Pot because that my favorite thing to do! The original recipe was posted back in 2019 by LIEMESSA and was cooked in the oven. But if you want to give this trend a try in your Crock Pot I think you will love it and like usual it will be all ready for you at dinner time!

Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot

Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Ingredients

Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Version

Feta Cheese with seasoned cherry tomatoes baked together to create a creamy sauce that gets tossed with pasta to create a simple but delicious dinner.

Feta Cheese

The original recipe calls for a block of feta cheese which I couldn’t find at my store. I had lots of different choices of crumbled feta cheese so I went with a garlic and herb feta cheese. I choose that one because anytime I can make a recipe easier and not even have to use spices I’m in. So if you can’t find a block of feta cheese, you can use any crumbled feta.

If you don’t like Feta Cheese you could easily swap goat cheese or even cream cheese!

Cherry tomatoes

I always love the Cherub grape tomatoes that are sweet you can even eat them like grapes. However, any tomatoes will work. If you are using bigger tomatoes just half them or quarter depending on how big they are.

Seasonings

The seasonings are up to you on this recipe. Since I used a garlic and herb feta cheese I just stuck with salt, pepper and a 1/2 cup of olive oil. If you don’t buy the seasoned feta cheese you could easily add your favorite Italian seasoning like oregano even a tablespoon of Italian Seasoning.

Garlic, Garlic, Garlic! I love garlic so I did 4 large garlic cloves minced for this recipe but you can use as much or as little as you like.

Fresh Basil is a must! This adds punch of fresh flavor to the dish at the end.

Best Pasta to use for Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Version

The best pasta (in my opinion) to use for this dish is a rotini or penne that has little grooves to catch all the baked feta cheese. However, just like with any dish any pasta you have on hand will work. I always use gluten free Barilla Pasta in my recipes! I used this rotini pasta for this dish.

If you want to keep this dish keto friendly swap the pasta for zoodles!

Optional Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Version Ingredients

Cream – If you want an even creamier consistency you can add cream once you have crushed the tomatoes after cooking. Add as much as you want to obtain the creaminess you want. If you don’t have any cream you could also reserve 1/4 cup of water from the pasta after it’s cooked which helps to thicken sauces.

Parmesan Cheese– I love to finish every pasta I make with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. This always adds the final flavor touch to any pasta dish.

Food Allergies- Gluten Free

I make everything gluten free in our house because my husband has celiac disease, which is when you are allergic to gluten. Our favorite pasta is the Gluten Free Barillla Pasta line. I find that it is the best one at staying together while cooking and the taste is just like real pasta. I used the Barilla Gluten Free Rotini for this recipe. Other than the pasta this entire meal is gluten free!

How to Make Viral Tik Tok Baked Feta Pasta Crock Pot Version

Step 1. Add feta cheese to crock pot.

Step 3. Pour olive oil on top of everything.

Step 4. Add salt, pepper, garlic and serrano pepper (optional).

Step 5. Cook on high for 3-4 hours.

Step 6. 20 minutes prior to tomatoes and feta finishing. Cook pasta according to package. (Save 1/2 cup of pasta water for creamier sauce if you don’t have cream).

Step 7. Once finished cooking mash tomatoes and cheese together. Add cream or pasta water if desired to make sauce creamier.

Step 8. Add pasta, fresh basil and parmesan. Stir everything until the pasta is coated!

 Crockpot Overnight Oatmeal with Pumpkin

One of the best ways to wake up on a cool fall morning is to the wonderful smell of pumpkin pie oatmeal filling the air! This easy crockpot pumpkin pie oatmeal is filled with delicious fall flavors and packed with protein from the steel cut oats. Indulge on all things pumpkin spice with this delicious breakfast recipe.

Crockpot Pumpkin Oatmeal

The best part about this pumpkin pie oatmeal is that you can put it together and set the slow cooker to do its thing the night before. In the morning, your breakfast will be hot and ready to enjoy! This recipe can also easily be doubled or tripled to accommodate a larger crowd.

All you have to do is gather all the ingredients and pour them into the crock pot and stir. That’s it…Really!!

Disclaimer- Some links below are Amazon affiliate links, meaning at no extra cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

Anytime Breakfast Option

Another great perk to this oatmeal is that people can eat it at different times. If your house is like mine, everyone doesn’t wake up at the same time. I often end up making 4 different breakfasts as people get up.

With pumpkin pie oatmeal I just turn it on warm when I wake up and everyone serves themselves when they’re ready to eat.

I always make this crockpot oatmeal when guests stay over, since they can eat whenever they want too! And what a yummy, no stress way to greet them in the morning!

Can I Reheat Oatmeal?

If you have leftovers of this oatmeal, you can store it in an airtight container and reheat it on the stove or in the microwave. You may need to add a little milk when reheating to get the desired consistency.

Why Steel Cut Oats?

If you haven’t had or heard of steel cut oats before, they are whole oats that have been chopped into two or three pieces with steel blades. Unlike rolled oats, which are chopped finer, steel cut oats are less processed and retain much more of their nutritional value. They are also high in fiber and prtein, which will help you feel full longer.

Steel cut oats don’t raise your blood sugar as quickly as other oats, which is great news for diabetics or anyone wanting to maintain a healthy weight.

If you want more details about the glycemic index and how this works for your diet here’s a great article!

The steel cut oats I use in the pumpkin pie oatmeal are also gluten free since we are gluten free in my house. My favorite brand is always Bob’s Red Mill and I just buy them online because I use them all the time! Here’s the link! If you aren’t gluten free you can use any kind of steel cut oats. Ok, now you’re a pro on steel cut oats..let’s get cooking!

Food Allergies

Gluten Free – I make everything gluten free in our house because my husband has celiac disease, which is when you are allergic to gluten. Oatmeal is actually gluten free but there can be cross contamination when it is farmed or processed in a facility with other grains that are not gluten free. That is why I always use gluten free oats like Bob’s Red Mill.

If you are not gluten free swap the gluten free steel cut oats for any steel cut oats.

Need A New Crock Pot?

My favorite is this Crock Pot 7 quart Programmable Slow Cooker. First and foremost, I love being able to set the timer in case I’m not home when the food is finished cooking and it just switches to warm. Plus you can lock the lid and just carry it to a party. Not only is it easy to carry but also you will never lose another Tupperware or serving dish again at a potluck party!

Easy Crock Pot Baked Ziti

Breaking News! You can make pasta in your slow cooker. This Crock Pot Baked Ziti was made completely in the slow cooker. Cheesy, gooey pasta is a must try in your slow cooker! I know, I know. It’s hard to believe!

You don’t even have to cook the pasta before. I thought that the pasta would turn to mush but they ended up just like regular baked ziti. The best part is that I didn’t have to heat up my kitchen since it was 102 degrees the day I made it! There are actually tons of Italian recipes you can make in your slow cooker, two other easy ones are Creamy Italian Chicken and Bruschetta Chicken, if you aren’t feeling pasta.

Disclaimer- Some links below are Amazon affiliate links, meaning at no extra cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

Secret Step for Crock Pot Baked Ziti

The secret is that you don’t add any water to the pasta and the tomato sauce slowly cooks the pasta for you. This recipe is so simple that all you have to do is mix a few ingredients together and then layer them all just like the traditional baked ziti.

Cheese, Cheese, and more Cheese!

The triple cheese blend makes this baked ziti a melty cheesy masterpiece. All of these cheeses add a unique flavor and gives you that real Italian restaurant Baked Ziti experience.

– Ricotta

– Parmesan

– Mozzarella

Types of Pasta

I actually used this gluten free penne pasta instead of ziti! I couldn’t find gluten free ziti at the grocery store. As you can see it doesn’t make a difference at all. You can use any tube pasta you should be good to go.

Perfect for Potluck

Crock Pot Baked Ziti makes A LOT of pasta! I love to make this as a main dish to bring to potlucks and everyone always raves about it. This will easily serve 6-8 people with large portions for a family dinner or you can freeze the leftovers and eat it later. We always freeze our leftovers and then eat it the following week!

Food Allergies

Gluten Free – I make everything gluten free in our house because my husband has celiac disease, which is when you are allergic to gluten. Our favorite pasta is the Gluten Free Barillla Pasta line. It doesn’t have the after taste of some pasta’s made with beans. I find that it is the best one at staying together while cooking. Some brands disintegrate especially when using in this kind of recipe where the pasta is soaking in sauce soaking.

If you are not gluten free swap the gluten free pasta for any ziti or penne.

Slow Cooker Mexican Street Corn

Slow Cooker Mexican Street Corn

What is Mexican Street Corn or Elote?

If you haven’t had the chance to have slow cooker mexican street corn before it is a taste that is hard to describe!

The best way is to picture yourself taking a stroll through the busy streets of Mexico City and you will smell the sizzling corn on the cob being sold in carts all along the road. Can you smell it through the screen?

This is how this special corn got its name, Mexican Street Corn. Mexican Street Corn is served with butter, salt, chili powder, mayonnaise, lime juice and cotija cheese. These flavors are perfect together!

Mexican Street Corn goes by another name as well, Elote. In Central American and Mexico corn, on or off the cob is called, Elote. This name is derived from the Nahuatl elotitutl, meaning tender cob. After tasting this amazing corn you will immediately be hooked and may not be able to go back to eating it with just butter and salt again.

Ok now you know everything these is to know about Mexican Street Corn but how do you to make it?

How to Make Slow Cooker Mexican Street Corn at Home

Once I had tried this delicious corn at a restaurant called the Elote Cafe in Sedona I had to make it once I returned home. Nothing can compare to having the ambience of the streets of Mexico City or at Elote Cafe.

However, I wanted to share this recipe out at our next party and try to share the delicious and unique flavors. I know it sounds crazy putting mayonnaise with corn but this tangy and sweet mix is what makes this corn so tasty.

I always try to make things simple for parties so I can enjoy my friends’ company. Also, I find that sometimes people don’t really enjoy eating an entire corn on the cob at a party so I thought making it in the slow cooker would work best so everyone could eat it as a dip or with their dinner.

There was none left by the time we had dinner but everyone loved the unique flavors and taste. Now you can have this little taste of Mexico City street food at home too. Try out this amazing recipe for a party or just as a side to go with tacos!

What is Cotija Cheese?

One of the key parts of Mexican Street Corn is Cotija Cheese but if you have never had cotijta cheese it might be a little confusing to know the taste. Cotija is a Mexican cow’s milk is a white, dry and crumbly cheese.

It is named after the town it comes from, Cotija, Michoacán. The closest cheese to compare it to is feta as far as consistency. The taste is very different though. It has a taste that is sharp, salty and milky. I highly recommend giving this cheese a try!

Cotija Cheese

Cheese Substitute– If you have had cotija cheese before and you don’t enjoy it then you can swap for parmesan cheese.
