Best Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Make the Best Slow Cooker Turkey Breast ever! No oven needed. This recipe is perfect for small holidays gatherings or to have homemade turkey for lunches and meals all week. For a tender, juicy turkey breast cook it in the Crock Pot!

We are hosting a smaller Thanksgiving this year than usual. I decided that I was going to make a Bone-In Turkey Breast instead of an entire turkey in the oven. This way we can still have the delicious turkey but we can use our oven for other delicious side dishes!

However, if you have more than one Crock Pot break it out! You can use it to make all the sides you can think of. You can actually make an entire Thanksgiving Meal in the Crock Pot. My favorite sides to make are this Creamy Corn and Garlic Mashed Potatoes in the Crock Pot!

best slow cooker turkey breast

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

This turkey breast turned out amazing! It was so juicy and filled with flavor. I think it might have been the best turkey I ever made. This way was so easy and moist that unless I need to make a big turkey I’m always using this recipe!

You won’t miss the oven at all with all of the spices and veggies that are included! I think the slow cooker also allows for there to be less chance of drying your turkey out. The slow cooker keeps all the steam and heat in such a small area. This recipe is perfect for beginners and pros!

How Long Do You Cook for the Best Crock Pot Turkey Breast?

The most important thing to know is that the internal temperature of your turkey breast should be 165 degrees. This is the hard rule to follow and it will turn out perfect! Some turkeys come with thermometers already in them that will pop out when the internal temperature reaches 165F / 75C.

However, when I removed the skin off my turkey breast I removed the thermometer too. I use the iGrill meat thermometer but it’s a little pricey. This regular meat thermometer will get the job done too. I highly recommend investing in a meat thermometer not only for turkey but for all your meat recipes!

The amount of time it will take for your turkey breast to cook will depend on the size of your turkey. Also, I feel like different crockpots cook hotter than others so keep that in mind. I cooked my 5 pound thawed bone-in turkey breast for 5 hours on low.

Bone In or Boneless Turkey Breast

I like to use a bone-in turkey breast because I think it adds a lot of flavor to the breast. Since there is no dark meat in this recipe I think the bone adds back in flavor! But you can totally use a boneless turkey breast for this recipe interchangeably.

How to Make Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Step 1. Completely thaw your turkey breast. This can take up to two days so prepare ahead of time for this step! Cut skin off turkey breast if desired.

Step 2. Layer celery, carrots and 1/2 of the onion on bottom on crockpot. Pour chicken broth over the vegetables.

Step 3. Place the turkey breast, BREAST DOWN on top of the vegetables.Take the remaining half of the onion and 4 tablespoons of butter and put them inside the turkey.

Best Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Step 4. Mix all the spices together in a bowl and stir to combine. Pour all the spices over the entire turkey. Make sure to get the underside.

Step 5. Take remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and melt it. Pour it over turkey. Place turkey breast down if moved while putting spices on.

Best Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Step 6. Cook on low for 5 hours or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

Step 7. Remove turkey from slow cooker and flip turkey over.

Step 8. Make gravy and carve! (See notes on both below)

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast Tips

Skin on or off– I took the skin off of the turkey breast because it doesn’t really crisp up in the crock pot. However, if you love the skin you can absolutely keep the skin on. Just crisp it under the broiler for a few minutes when you are finished. But keep an eye on it because it will crisp fast!

Making Gravy from the Juices– Don’t forget to use your delicious juices for gravy! All you need to do is pour the liquid through a small colander. Take the liquid and put it on the stove and heat to a simmer. Make a cornstarch slurry( 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1 tablespoon cold water mixed together). Add cornstarch to turkey liquid and simmer until thickened!

Single or Double Breast– You can use either… just make sure it fits in your crock pot. I did a double breast and it was a tight fit. I have this 6 qt crockpot for reference.

How To Carve A Turkey Breast

If you want your turkey breast to look show stopping for Thanksgiving or a holiday make sure to cut the breast correctly. My husband is a pro turkey carver so I made sure to take a few pictures while he cut.

Step One- Cut down the middle of the turkey breast.

Step 2. Turn the breast on its side and cut right below the bone.

Steakhouse Creamed Corn Recipe

Crockpot Creamed Corn

Make this steakhouse creamed corn recipe from scratch in your Crockpot! Crockpot Creamed Corn is so easy to make and it tastes fancy just like a your favorite steakhouse restaurant.

Steakhouse Creamed Corn Recipe

I love a good steak but most of the time I go to a steakhouse to get the delicious side dishes. While mashed potatoes will always be my first love, creamed corn is a close runner-up. There is something about the sweet corn paired with the creamy sauce that is just irresistible.

The first time I went to Lawry’s Steakhouse was when I lived in Los Angeles and they have location of Lawry’s in Beverly Hills. Once I had a bite of their famous Lawry’s Cream Corn I fell in love. I had only ever had the kind that came out of a can before and this was so much better. The prime rib was also good but not as great as the creamed corn!

And if you are asking yourself is this the same as Lawry’s Seasoning Salt the answer is yes!! Lawry’s Seasoned Salt is the signature seasoned salt from the famous Lawry’s Prime Rib restaurants that I always use to jazz up any recipe. So if you do want to make a steak to go with this steakhouse creamed corn grab your Lawry’s Salt to have a true steakhouse experience.

But don’t keep this steakhouse creamed corn recipe just for steak! The best part is that it goes with everything… steaks, roast, chicken, BBQ.

Crockpot Creamed Corn Recipe

Every time I make this side dish no matter what the main course is this always steals the show.

There is something about the combo that almost everyone loves! That’s why you can find a variation of it at steakhouse restaurants and BBQ joints everywhere. This is always my go-to for any potluck side or dinner party. My crockpot always comes home empty from everyone going back for seconds!

Anytime I can do a fix it and forget recipe on those busy days then it gets added to my menu. Plus, everyone thinks this is a fancy side dish because it tastes just like what you get at upscale restuarants.

It is even better because it can stay warm so there is no precise time that it needs to be taken out. I would always give it a good stir 5 minutes before serving but other than that you can just let the crockpot do the work for you!

Easy Thanksgiving Side Dish

Green beans are always a staple at our Thanksgiving table. I love to make these as side dish even though it has meat in it. Also, this recipe doesn’t need the oven during the holidays. So it’s a perfect way to utilize your slow cooker when your oven is on overload. Try this Kielbasa casserole as a fun change of pace to the typical green bean casserole.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR KIELBASA CASSEROLE

Kielbasa Casserole

What type of potatoes for kielbasa casserole?

You can use any potatoes you want like. I used red potatoes and typically use yukon gold in recipes. But feel free to use whatever you have on hand. The key to potatoes is to cut them in uniform shapes so they cook evenly. If you have big and little pieces they might cook too fast or slow leaving you with mushy potatoes or rock hard ones. Kielbasa Casserole works great whenever you have leftover potatoes. That’s actually how I came up with this recipe… We had leftover potatoes that I needed to use AND green beans were on sale that week at the store!

What type of green beans for kielbasa casserole?

As far as the green beans go, fresh is best! Frozen greens beans work too but be prepared for them to release a little moisture to the dish. Canned beans can be used as well.

  • Sausage Kielbasa
  • Red potatoes
  • Green beans
  • Onions
  • Minced Garlic
  • Beef stock
  • Pepper
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

HOW TO MAKE KIELBASA CASSEROLE?

Layer potatoes on bottom of crockpot. Add onions on top of the potatoes.

Kielbasa Casserole

Place kielbasa on top of onions.

Kielbasa Casserole

Green beans go on the top since they cook the fastest! Layer these last.

Kielbasa Casserole

Pour salt and minced garlic over layers. Try to distribute evenly.

Pour beef broth on top of everything and gently stir. Try to keep layers as in tact as possible.

Cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours.

Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham- Crock Pot

Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham

The Perfect Holiday Ham

This easy 5 ingredient ham will make any holiday a breeze. Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham has the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The delicious brown sugar crust paired with the tangy pineapple makes a melt in your mouth ham.

This classic ham always takes the spotlight on Easter and Christmas but it can be made anytime. The best part is all the recipes you make with any leftover, if there are any!

Brown-Sugar-and-Pineapple-Ham

Tips for making Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham

Mustard– I use the mustard because I think it adds a depth to the sweet side of this dish and helps to keep the brown sugar on the ham. Since this recipe calls for two sweet ingredients the balance the mustard adds is needed. You can skip that step if you don’t like mustard or use a teaspoon of apple vinegar.

Pineapple– There are so many pineapple options out there. The traditional ham uses the pineapple rings which looks so fun. But as far as getting bites of pineapple with my ham I prefer to use pineapple tidbits or crushed since they can get in all the nooks and crannies. But any pineapple will work, just don’t forget the juice.

Ham– The best part about this recipe is it can be used with any ham! I have even done it with a tiny 2 pound ham that was on sale. Typically, I use a spiral ham because it’s easy to cut and get lots of juice inside. But you can use boneless, bone-in, spiral or uncut! As long as it can fit in the crock pot you are set.

Holiday Side Dishes

Don’t forget the side dish! Make these amazing mashed potatoes or creamed corn that can be made it the crock pot too.

Leftover Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham?

If you have leftover you can either use them to make this egg casserole or I love to chop it up and freeze it and use it as needed!

How to Make Brown Sugar and Pineapple Ham?

Add 1 1/2 cups brown sugar to the bottom of the crock pot.

My favorite is this Crock Pot 7 quart Programmable Slow Cooker. First and foremost, I love being able to set the timer in case I’m not home when the food is finished cooking and it just switches to warm. Plus you can lock the lid and just carry it to a party. Not only is it easy to carry but also you will never lose another Tupperware or serving dish again at a potluck party!
